Who We Are

Our Story

Rhythm Path was founded in February of 2008.  That year we grew rapidly from doing a handful of events with 70 drums to being able to go full-time in 2010 with 125 drums!  Today Rhythm Path currently facilitates over 100 events a year throughout Texas & Oklahoma.  We have grown from not only facilitating events but also importing authentic drums and handicrafts for sale.  Our goal is to share the culture of West Africa through hands-on drumming events and making instruments available for purchase so participants can continue drumming after being part of a Rhythm Path facilitated event.

Facilitator David Cox

David was born and raised in Burkburnett, TX where he currently resides with his wife and two year old son.  He has a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Texas at Arlington where he studied with Dr. Michael Varner, James Yakas, Jeff Ausdemore, and Ed Stephan.

While in college David was able to travel to Senegal on a Summer mission trip to work with the Ndut people.  He has since been back to Senegal two times and has also traveled to Ghana to work with the drum workshop where Rhythm Path purchases drums.  When not facilitating or traveling he enjoys spending time with his family and friends in his hometown.
